            Rotech Engineering

Rotech Engineering has been innovating and producing world-leading technology in the renewables and oil & gas sectors for over 20 years.

From record-breaking high-temperature drilling motors for oil & gas and geothermal wells, to decontamination tools for decommissioning subsea oil storage tanks, to subsea trenchers and excavators for the offshore wind industry, in the last two decades our research engineering team has produced world-leading technologies across a broad range of applications.

With a fully equipped workshop, in-house machine shop, and extensive test facilities, we control all aspects of new technology development through design, prototyping, testing and final production and therefore set ourselves apart from other operators in the sector.

            Previous and current projects include:

            Rotech RS Excavator Range
The current state-of-the-art in subsea Controlled Flow Excavation and Trenching.

Rotech RSG1 subsea cable grab tool
As well as deburying cable, the RSG1 can lift cable for repair and boasts real-time sonar monitoring with subsea camera and lights - which can also be applied for Umbilical recovery, Pipeline recovery as well as rock removal and relocation.

            Rotech Aquaflow / 'T-shaped' Excavators
The original Rotech Subsea mass flow excavator fleet.

            Aquaflow Application Software
A software package for the prediction of subsea excavator performance and progress rates.

            MacDrill
The world’s first all-metal hydraulic motor for cleaning geothermal and oil & gas wells at temperatures up to 260°C (500°F). Licensed to Weatherford International Inc.

            TurboMac
An ultra-short drilling turbine for use in hard-rock and high-temperature applications.

            RTT
The Rotech Tidal Turbine, a research and development project which led to the design of a 1MW tidal energy electricity generator.

            Rotech Downhole Gearbox
A high-temperature gearbox for downhole drilling and power generation tools.

            RGDT
The Rotech Gravity Base Decommissioning Tool, a tool for remotely cleaning out contaminated tanks at the base of large gravity-base structures or other subsea vessels.

            MacFlow
A software package for the modelling of down-hole motor performance with compressible and incompressible fluids.
